Why we have this policy
SundaySync hosts schedules, conversations, and files for thousands of ministry teams. To keep the platform trustworthy, every user agrees to a small set of common-sense rules. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.
Prohibited behavior
Don’t use SundaySync to:
- Harass, bully, or threaten other users — in messages, chats, polls, file names, or any other surface.
- Post hate speech or content that attacks a person or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Send spam, junk messages, mass-blast notifications, or unsolicited promotional content.
- Attempt to phish credentials, financial info, or personal data from other users.
- Distribute malware, viruses, ransomware, or any other harmful code.
- Impersonate another person, leader, church, or organization.
- Share credentials across multiple individuals (each volunteer should have their own account).
- Use SundaySync for commercial promotion unrelated to your church or ministry.
Content rules
- Don’t upload illegal content, sexually explicit material, or graphic violence.
- Don’t upload copyrighted music, lyrics, charts, video, or images you don’t have permission to share. (Some songs require a CCLI or CCS license — that’s the church’s responsibility, not SundaySync’s.)
- Don’t use chat or announcement features to publicly shame or expose another team member.
- Keep minors’ personal information protected. Photos, full names, and contact details of children should only be shared with appropriate consent.
Security & integrity
- Don’t try to scrape, mirror, or systematically extract data from SundaySync.
- Don’t make excessive automated requests against our API.
- Don’t attempt to access workspaces, accounts, or messages that aren’t yours.
- Don’t probe the platform for vulnerabilities in ways that could disrupt service. (Responsible security research is welcome — please coordinate with us first by emailing [email protected].)
How we enforce
When something looks off, we generally start with a conversation. Repeated or serious violations can lead to feature limits, temporary suspension, or permanent removal. Decisions are made by a real person on our team, not an automated system.
We may also remove specific content (e.g. an abusive message) without removing the user, depending on context.
Reporting an issue
If someone is using SundaySync to harm you or your team, please tell us. Email [email protected] with as much context as you can share (screenshots, links, account names). We treat every report seriously and respond personally.
In an emergency that involves real-world safety, please contact local authorities first.
